3.10 Alignment Faults—Coupling Errors

Coupling errors will produce vibrations (with rotational frequency) in the following 3 cases:division error,

radial run-out error and

angular error of coupling face by wrong machining.

Angular misalignment and a shaft offset will not produce vibrations with rotation frequency. They will produce heavy static forces in the neighboring bearings. Run-out and coupling face errors occur nowadays seldom, but we saw a few division errors in the past.
